Obituary

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the sudden passing of William "Bill" Peabody. He passed away on Sunday, January 9th, 2022.  He will lovingly be remembered by his wife, his best friend, his partner in crazy escapades, Cheryl Peabody, and his daughters, whom he supported in every possible way, Elizabeth and Debbie. He will also be greatly missed by his pride and joy, his "Little Man," his grandson, Bentley.

Bill was a loving son of Charles and Mary Peabody. He will also be greatly missed by his siblings, Diane and husband John, Chuck and his wife Ginny, Janice, Rick, as well as numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews.

Bill graduated from Spaulding High School in 1983 and was a member of one of the best football teams in the history of the school, winning the state championship his senior year.

Bill was a proud Veteran of the United States Marine Corps, having served during the Persian Gulf War in Beirut, Lebanon. When he stood for the National Anthem, he did so with love and pride for his country, as well as for the love of his brothers and sisters that fought alongside him.

Bill was a gentle giant with the kindest heart. He could often be seen assisting others doing community projects, helping at athletic events, helping a friend, or even helping a stranger in need.  When he and Cheryl went out to breakfast, he always made a point of paying the bill for elderly customers (especially if they had a Veteran hat on).

Some of Bill's fondest memories were going to a camp in northern Maine and fishing with his friends and co-workers from Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.

Bill had a special connection with his brother, Chuck.  He was his brother by blood, but also his Marine brother. He was his confidant, his mentor, his best friend.

Calling hours are Monday from 2-5pm at Peaslee Funeral Home, 24 Central Street, Farmington, NH.  A private family service will be held on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at 12Noon at the Chapel at New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH with military honors by the United States Marine Corps.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his memory to the Farmington 500 Boys & Girls Club.  To express condolences, please visit:  www.peasleefuneralhome.com
