SANBORNVILLE — Warren H. Goodwin, 97, of Old Stage Road in Sanbornville, died March 26, 2010, at Wolfeboro Bay Care and Rehab.
Born March 20, 1913, and raised in Milton Mills, son of the late Charles H. and Stella D. (Hamilton) Goodwin, he resided at his farm in Sanbornville for over 50 years.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served overseas at various locations in Europe and was a recipient of numerous awards including a European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon, a Good Conduct Medal, American Theater Campaign Ribbon and a Victory Medal.
Prior to retirement, he was employed as an automotive mechanic and a light truck driver, employed with Ernest Hall in Berwick, Maine, and Fred Meyer in Sanbornville.
Warren was a member of the New Hampshire Trapper's Association for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping.
He is survived by his wife, Bernice Vaughan; a daughter, Vickie L. Broderick of Bellbrook, Ohio; a son, Wayne Thigpen of Brunswick, Ga.; six grandchildren, Hugh Thigpen, Paige, Andrew, C.J., Kate and Patrick Broderick; three sisters, Lois Randall of Colebrook, Gloria Beaudry of Shapleigh, Maine and Ruth Sessler of Rochester, also several nieces, nephews and a host of kind, caring and supportive friends.
A graveside service will be held at a later date at Milton Mills Cemetery.
