Walter A. Ryan, age 78, former longtime resident of Alton, died December 22, 2012 at Lakes Region General Hospital in Laconia.
Born April 9, 1934 in Boston, MA, the son of Walter and Evelyn (Glover) Ryan, he was a longtime resident of Alton, NH, and had resided in Melbourne, FL, since 1977.
Prior to retirement, he was self employed as a Master Carpenter and Electrician.
He was a champion pool player.
Predeceased by his wife Shirley (Lamper) Ryan in 1973, he is survived by their children: Walter M. Ryan of Belmont, Cheryl Ryan of Alton and Vickie Leclerc of Quincy, MA, 8 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 2 sisters: Evelyn Ryan of Boston and Florence Torre of Derry, NH, also several nieces and nephews.
There are no calling hours, family and friends are welcome to a funeral on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at 5:00 pm at Peaslee Alton Funeral Home, 12 School Street, Alton, NH. A time of reception will follow the service at the American Legion Post #72 in Alton. Interment will be at New Riverside Cemetery in Alton.
