Virginia Louise (Melanson) Perkins, "Ginny", age 82, of Powder Mill Road in Alton, died October 13, 2011 at Hospice House of Concord.
Born April 18, 1929 in Manchester, the daughter of Napoleon and Alice V. (Elliott) Melanson, she resided there for many years and had resided in Alton since 1976.
As a stay at home mother of five very active children, she worked at home making doll clothes for Langley Company of Manchester, NH. Ginny surrounded herself with family and friends as often as possible. She loved gardening and enjoyed watching her "Garden of Love" grow. She also enjoyed crocheting.
Survived by her loving and devoted husband Louie O. Perkins, Sr. of Alton and their 5 children: Judy J. Thibeault of Alton, Deborah L. Brown and husband Dale of Franklin, Lorna M. Verette and companion David Pray of Manchester, Louie O. Perkins, Jr. and wife Linda of Alton, Lloyd C. Perkins and wife Jessica of Alton, her extended family: Roland Desmarais and wife Joy of Seaside, CA, 15 grandchildren: Archie and Stephen Thibeault, Amy Lariviere, Craig Burton and Cory Burton, Shaun Perkins, Randi Washburn, Tiffney Gamache, John Fenner, Crista Woodbury, Brittney, Tyler, Jacob, Kaylee and Ryan Perkins, 12 great grandchildren, a sister: Lena M. Melanson of Leesburg, FL, also many nieces and nephews and her best friend: Eleanor Houlne of Manchester. She was predeceased by her parents and brothers: Lincoln, Arnold, Raymond, William and Bernard Melanson.
Family and friends are welcome to calling hours on Monday, October 17, 2011 from 1-4 pm with a service at 4pm at Peaslee Alton Funeral Home, 12 School Street, Alton, NH. Interment will be private at Old Riverside Cemetery in Alton, at a later date.
