Virginia Mae (Hopkinson) Leighton, age 76, of Wolfeboro Highway, Alton, died peacefully March 18, 2011 at Huggins Hospital in Wolfeboro.
Born April 27, 1934 in Wolfeboro, the daughter of Thomas and Sara (Jost) Hopkinson, she was raised in Wolfeboro and has resided in Alton since the age of 18.
Virginia was a homemaker, enjoyed being with family.
Survivors include her husband: Rodney W. Leighton of Alton, 3 children: R. Philip Leighton of Alton, Barbara and her husband Preston King and John H. Leighton all of Bedford, 1 brother: Linwood Hopkinson of Wolfeboro, and 1 sister: Louise Miller of Lynnfield, MA, also several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral service will be held on Monday March 21, 2011 at 12:00pm noontime at the Peaslee's Alton Funeral Home 12 School Street, Alton. Calling hour will be one hour prior to service from 11:00am-12:00pm. Interment will be in the spring at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Farmington.
