Vernon L. Brown, age 84, of Foxtrot Drive in Farmington, died March 6, 2012, at home.
Born September 29, 1927 in Marblehead, MA, the son of Bradley and Cora (Durland) Brown, he was raised and resided there for many years and resided in Farmington, NH since 1970.
A United States Air Force Veteran of the Korean War, he was a member of American Legion Post #69 in Somersworth for 23 years.
Vernon was retired from Westinghouse, where he was employed as a Machinist.
He ran the "Coffee House" at the Pentecostal Church in Farmington for many years.
A "people person", he was also a great car mechanic.
Widow of the late Katherine E. (Stone) Brown, who died in 2001, he is survived by their 4 children: Wayne Brown, Kathie Merrill, Bill Brown and Bryan Brown, 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandson, 2 sisters: Janice Finnegan and Marita Crownenshield, also several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son Samuel Brown in 2004 and by a brother Durland Brown.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 1:00 pm at Peaslee Funeral Home, 24 Central Street, Farmington, NH, with a calling hour prior to the service from 12 Noon to 1pm. Interment will be in the spring at Pine Grove Cemetery in Farmington.
