Sanbornville, NH – Uldine C. (Harnum) Drown, 88, resident of Lovell Lake Road, Sanbornville, NH, died peacefully on August 18, 2018 at her home on the lake under the loving care of her husband and children.
She will be forever remembered and sadly missed by her husband of 52 years, William F. Drown. They shared many wonderful years together and will always be loved by family and friends.
Born in Twillingate, Newfoundland, daughter of the late Gordon and Gladys (Primmer) Harnum, she attended Cambridge (MA) High and Latin, graduating in 1947. She worked as a file clerk for John Hancock Insurance before marrying Howard E. Walker in 1950 with whom she raised 6 children. After Howard's passing in 1962, she married William F. Drown in 1966, and helped with their plumbing business, maintaining the financial records and billings.
Uldine was a long-time member of the Eastern Star and served in many capacities, including as Worthy Matron. She served in the Lovell-Union Grange, including as Worshipful Master. At The Episcopal Church of Saint John the Baptist in Sanbornville, she served on the Women's Guild, at the Thrift Shop, and as a Vacation Bible School teacher.
Uldine is survived by daughters, Kathryn Poulin of Middleton, Wendy Sheridan of Sanbornville, Sandra Thomas of Farmington, and Laura Batten of Westford, MA, stepdaughters Marie Casburn of Bushnell, FL and Debra Drown-Lachance of Rochester , sons Earl Walker of Lexington, MA and Brian Walker of Andover, MA, as well as their spouses, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Uldine is also survived by sisters Dorothy Noonan of North Fort Myers, FL and Priscilla Denehy of Windsor, SC and brother William Harnum of Westford, MA, as well as her in-laws, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers Neil (Jim) and Gordon Harnum and sister Louise Hryniewich.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend services to be held on September 8, 2018, 11:00 am at The Episcopal Church of Saint John the Baptist, 118 High Street, Sanbornville, NH. An Eastern Star service will be held before the funeral at 10:45. Burial will be at the Drown Family plot just a stone's throw from the home she shared with her husband for the past 22 years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Uldine's memory to Shriners Hospital for Children.Funeral Service
