IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Timothy B.
Smith
July 30, 1959 – February 10, 2020
Farmington, NH
Timothy B. Smith age 60, of Ten Rod Road in Farmington, NH died February 10, 2020 at Massachusetts General Hospital.
Born in Rochester, NH on July 30, 1959. The son of William L. and Ruth L. (Hogan) Smith. He was raised in Farmington, a graduate of Farmington High School.
Tim owned and operated Smith & Sons Livestock in Farmington and had worked in maintenance for over 25 years at Textron (Davidson Rubber Co.) in Farmington.
Tim had a love of cars and it wasn't uncommon for him to leave home in one vehicle and to return home with a different one. Firebirds, Jeeps and Land Cruisers were just a few that he drove over the years. As he got older, he discovered dealing livestock. Birdman, Roosta and ChickenBus were some of his license plates that graced his hauling trucks. He spent many years traveling to auctions and going to pick up or deliver this or that. Through it he made many friends, including one of his closest friends Mike and his wife Michelle Riley, Roland Philbrick and sister Helen.
He was a grandfather who loved to spend time with his grandkids and get them into a little mischief. If the parents said no he was sure to be there to advocate that the grandkids got the toy, the pet or whatever else they desired. Sometimes it included secret letters with the amount of cash that the grandchild needed to get the item.
Tim is survived by his son Heath and his wife Vanessa Smith and his daughter Michelle and her husband Jason Obermeyer, a brother Kenneth and wife Sue and a sister Holly Smith. He always said he had the best grandkids on both sides of the Mississippi. Owen and Evan Smith and Grace, Emelia and Magdalen Obermeyer will carry their grandfather's memory with them always. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents and sister Barbara "Sue" Smith.
A celebration of life will be held at the Alton American Legion Post #72, 164 Wolfeboro Hwy, Alton, NH on Sunday February 23, 2020 from 1pm – 4pm.
