Thomas C. Smith (69), of Rochester, NH (formerly of Sanbornville, NH) died on

Wednesday, July 22nd at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House surrounded by family in his

final days after a short battle with cancer.

He was born on June 2 nd , 1957, in Dover, NH; the son of William S. Smith and Jean

(White) Smith.

Thomas was a proud graduate of Berwick Academy, class of 1975, where he excelled

academically, ran for the cross-country team and was a founding member of the Baco

Society. Thomas went on to study at both the University of New Hampshire and the New

Hampshire Vocational-Technical College. Tom spent most of his career as a Quality

Control Inspector with Thompson Center Arms in Rochester, NH along with other

manufacturing facilities in New Hampshire and Maine. Tom was an avid skier and

boatsman spending numerous winters on the slopes throughout New England and

summers sailing/boating on Lovell Lake with his family. Throughout his adult-life Tom

was a devoted “friend of Bill W” where he mentored and counseled other friends for

nearly 30 years. Tom’s two sons and eight granddaughters are his greatest legacy. He

loved spending time with them, especially his monthly dinners where dessert was always

on the menu. His laugh, sense-of-humor and contagious smile will be missed by many.

Thomas is survived by his son; Eric Smith and fiancé Mandy DelliColli of Milford, NH;

his son Jonathan Smith and wife Kerry Smith of Rye, NH; his sister Mary Lynne (Smith)

Cincotta and her husband Phil Cincotta of New Gloucester, ME; eight granddaughters

and two nieces.

He was pre-deceased by his parents William S. Smith and Jean (White) Smith; and his

brothers Russel Smith and Lawrence Smith.
