Thomas F. O’Brien, affectionately known as Frank or Frankie, 75, of Alton, NH, passed away at home on October 4, 2026, after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Born July 7, 1951, in Exeter, NH, Frank was the son of the late Francis J. O’Brien and Lucille (Leonard) O’Brien. He grew up in Raymond and graduated from Raymond High School. He studied industrial electricity at NHTC and later took electrical engineering courses at Lowell Tech. Frank worked as an electrician and later as head of maintenance and shift supervisor at Bay State Carbide.

Frank’s love of music began early. He sang tenor in the chorus and played the baritone horn, traveling to the World’s Fair with his school band while in sixth grade. He also enjoyed fishing, playing pool, listening to music, and spending time with friends. A lifelong baseball enthusiast, Frank coached young players from Little League through high school, including his own children.

Frank married Diane in 1972, and they shared 54 years together. He was a devoted father to Michael O’Brien and his wife, Karen; Eric O’Brien and his wife, Alexandra; and Kayla Daniels and her husband, Bobby. He was a proud grandfather to Mackenzie, Parker, Hannah, Rory, Carter, Ella, Colin, Annabell, Sophie, and Logan. He is also remembered by many nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.

Frank was the only boy among five children. He is survived by his sisters Kathleen and Patricia; his sisters Theresa Elliott and Jeannie O’Brien Colemen predeceased him. Above all, Frank loved his family. He treasured camping trips, music, talking baseball with his sons, and holidays—especially Thanksgiving. His wife, children, and grandchildren were his greatest joy, and his affectionate nicknames for them reflected how much they meant to him.

A celebration of Frank’s life will be held between 1:00 and 6:00 pm on October 25, 2026, at the Alton Bay Community Center, 58 Mount Major Highway, Alton Bay, NH.
