Theresa Mary (Vachon) Glidden was taken to her eternal home on April 2, 2026, after a period of failing health. She was born on April 14,1929 in Wolfeboro, NH. To Oscar & Doris (Pratt) Duchano.
Grammie G or Gram, as she was affectionately known, was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion, and unwavering faith in God. Her passing has left a void in the hearts of her family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by her. We ask that you remember her life for the way it was lived, and for the profound impact it had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Theresa is survived by a son Thomas Vachon of Milton, NH, Daughter -Virginia Henry of Farmington, NH. Daughter – Paula Durand, of Berwick, Maine. Two Bonus sons Tom Glidden of Farmington, NH; and Brian Glidden of Lebanon, Maine. Many Grandkids, Great Grandkids, Great-Great Grands and even a Great-Great-Great grandchild. She was predeceased by Her husband of 25 years Stanley C. Glidden, Her Daughter Marie West, Great grandsons Casey & Aiden, and most of her beloved friends.
Theresa found happiness in the many mountain trails she hiked with many friends. She worked tirelessly in her incredible rock gardens and yard. She spent numerous hours looking out at the deer, otters, birds, foxes and yes, bear that graced her field and pond. Her happiness was always faith, family, friends and then anything outdoors or that involved the beach! Hobbies also included making puzzles, and in the last few years making crafty projects that her granddaughter Jessica brought.
She lived a selfless life putting others first.
While raising her children, Theresa worked a clerical job at Spaulding Fiber and later work as quality control for Thompson Center Arms, where she retired. She made lifelong friends from her time in the workplace. Theresa was never afraid to be a bold strong woman, even when society looked down on it. She taught generations after her to be 100% themselves.
There are no words that can express how grateful and blessed we are to the amazing caregivers at Wentworth Douglas Hospital. We’d also like to thank everyone for the outpouring of thoughts, prayers and love.
A memorial gathering will be held on April 10, 2026 from 5:00pm - 7:00 pm, at Peaslee Funeral Home, 24 Central Street in Farmington. A Funeral Mass will be held on her birthday April 14, 2026, 11am, at Katharine Drexel Church, 40 Hidden Springs Road in Alton, NH . Her final resting place will be in the spring at a private family gathering.
Her legacy will carry on forever reminding us that we control our attitudes. We choose to live a life of meaningful acts of love and service.
