Steven L. "Skyp "Manning, age 75, of Strafford, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2023, after a brief illness, surrounded by his loving family.

Skyp was born September 12, 1947 in Laconia NH. He was predeceased by Harold G. Manning Sr. (father), Rachel V. Poire (mother) and Harold G.  "Chuck"  Manning Jr. (brother).

Skyp worked for Textron in Farmington NH for over 35 years and retired over 10 years ago.

Skyp was a beloved attendee of the NH Poet Society and went to many poetry hoots in Portsmouth, Concord, Exeter, Meredith, Effingham and all over New Hampshire.  He was an avid writer of poems and often wrote about his wife, his children, granddaughters, great-grand daughter, dog and cat.   Every morning, Skyp would send out an email called "The Strafford Notes".  He also hosted the Spoken Word at the Strafford Hill Library, where poets would come to read their poems once a month.

Skyp also liked to walk in the woods with his children, granddaughters and great granddaughter. He was enthusiastic about nature and found a connection with the outdoors. One of his passions was identifying flowers, trees and herbs, often making wildflower bouquets. Another was soaking in the beauty that surrounds us.

He would also go Geocaching with his wife and find some caches that she could not find. Skyp and his wife loved to go for rides and discover new places to take pictures and just enjoy finding back roads they had not been down.

Skyp leaves behind his loving wife Deborah of 54 years of Strafford, his daughter Stacey Henderson of Strafford,  his son Justin Manning of Strafford, granddaughters Kayla Manning & her partner Justin Miner of Concord NH,  Angelica Harwood of Orland Me, great granddaughter Azalea Miner of Concord NH, sisters;  Bonnie Wickner of Safety Harbor, Fl ,Susan Wyley of  Clearwater, Fl and brother John Manning of Gilmanton, NH.  Skyp also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and friends.

A Graveside Service is being held at Calvary Hill Cemetery on Ricky Nelson Rd in Strafford, NH  on September 23, 2023 at 10am, family and friends are welcome.
