Shirley Ann Lane, age 81, of Alton, died April 29, 2015, at home.

Born September 26, 1933 in Everett, Massachusetts, daughter of Benjamin D. and Sadie (Marchant) Boudrow, she was a graduate of Everett High School, Class of 1951.

She was a bookkeeper for her husband's company George H. Lane, Jr. Roofing and her son Richy's Excavating in Alton.

A member of Warren-Alpha-Unity-Fraternal #10 O.E.S., having served as Treasurer for 23 years, American Legion Auxiliary Post #72, Alton Garden Club, elected Library Trustee for 1 ½ years and elected Alton School Treasurer for 11 years and elected Alton Cemetery Trustee for 15 years.

Her hobbies included square dancing and quilting.

Widow of the late George H. Lane, whom she was married to for 41 years, she is survived by their children 4: Richard J. "Richy" Lane, Robin Shirley Lane and her partner Desmond Douglas, George H. Lane III and Lauren I. Muise, several grandchildren including Jesse J. Lane, a brother Robert Boudrow, 2 sisters: Beatrice Ciampoli and Alice Seely, also several nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by siblings: Marian MacDonald, Donald Boudrow, Alfred Boudrow, Helen Sullivan and James Boudrow.

Calling hours are Monday evening from 6-8 pm at Peaslee Alton Funeral Home, 12 School Street in Alton with an Eastern Star Service at 7:30pm. Interment will be private at New Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to: Central VNA & Hospice, PO Box 1620, Wolfeboro, NH 03894.
