Obituary

Sherman Henry Brown of Alton, NH, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2024, at the age of 74 surrounded by the family he loved so fiercely.

Sherman was born on March 18, 1950, in Lawrence, MA. After growing up in Alton, NH, he joined the Army where he served two tours in Vietnam. After his return, he built his family home on the land which he was raised, where he went on to raise his own family along with Darlene, his wife of 24 years. He took much pride in his home and enjoyed working on the yard, creating a space for everyone to enjoy. Many memories were made on his sprawling apple tree, acres of open field and, of course, the "Big Rock". It is also the land where he, his sons and his grandson got their first deer in which he took great pride.

He will be remembered for his hard work and commitment to family. For his commitments to the American Legion and Masons. For his years as the town plumber and work with the Alton Volunteer Ambulance Service. For his silly, goofy retorts and endless Dad jokes. For his pride in his homes. For water gun fights and fireworks. For gun collecting and target practicing. For his love of mild New Hampshire summers and warm, sunny Florida winters. For his love of Christmas, spending it with family and enjoying Grampa Stimpson's crown roast and corn stuffing.

Sherman is predeceased by his Mom, Gerry Brown, Father, Alden Brown and Mother, Patsy Lachut. He is survived by his sons, Jarrod and Michael Brown; his daughter Shemry Maraia (husband Joseph); his four grandchildren Corbin and Garrison Maraia, Jayden and Madilyn Brown; his brothers Dexter, Leonard, Alden and Casey Brown and his sister Heather Brown.
