Obituary

Farmington, NH

Scott Newton, age 52, died at home on Ridge Road in Farmington on February 18, 2017.

He quietly and peacefully went to "Walk with Jesus", his Lord and Savior, Dad, Papa, Uncle Barry and Aunt Sandy.

Born August 9, 1964, a son of Jean A. (Whalen) Newton and the late William A. Newton, Scott was a graduate of Farmington High School, Class of 1982.

A member of the First Baptist Church of Farmington, he served as a Deacon and as Sunday School Treasurer for many years.

Scott was the most loving, caring & content person. Seriously injured and Paralyzed in an industrial accident, he turned 19 in the hospital. A few years earlier, he spent the entire summer flat on his back from an eye injury and could not move for fear that he would destroy the work of the surgeon if he did.

A picture of courage and endurance, Scott never complained or asked Why?
EVER….He trusted his Savior and he fought a good fight, finished the course and kept the faith.

Scott was a respectful and appreciative son. A confidante and great example for a brother. A grandson, who adored his grandparents. A nephew who was caring, kind and compassionate. A father who never stopped loving and training up his child. A friend who never quit on those whom he cared for. An Uncle who seldom said no and was always available to help.

Maternal grandparents: Pauline L. Whalen Gardner of Farmington and the late Newell J. Whalen, he leaves his brothers: William (Sharyn) Newton of Rochester, Dennis (Cindy) Newton of Middleton and Rocky (Judy) Newton of Farmington, his aunts: Candace M. Whalen and Sharon Cardosi, both of Farmington, a son: Nicholas Newton of Concord, nephews: Ryan and Matt, nieces: Lauren, Shanell. Haleigh and Jenna Jean, 3 grandchildren; also special friends: Bob Schulte, Jim Kingsbury, Glenn Merrill, "Joey" Keegan and the late Proctor Davis and Uel Gardner.

Scott was a picture of goodness, yet he was humble and knew that it wasn't enough to be good. When his world collapsed around him, he called on the name of Jesus and proclaimed "I will take my first steps with Jesus" and never wavered.

Scott was an inspiration to all and wonder to his Doctors, Nurses and medical community everywhere he went. When told he had 2-3 weeks to live a year or so ago, He proclaimed "I just got a new computer", refused further treatment and went home to wait on the Lord.

The family would like to acknowledge Cornerstone VNA/Hospice ("JoJo" Dunlea, Cheryl Bonar and Gail Schopick) and Craig Hospital/Swedish Medical Center in Colorado.

Scott will be missed by MANY………..until we meet again!
