Ruth P. (Vogler) Fritz, age 89, died August 9, 2013.
Born May 16, 1924 in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the daughter of William John Vogler and Margaret Elizabeth (Klumpp) Vogler.
During World War II, Ruth was a riveter on the PBM – Navy planes at Glenn L. Martins aircraft factory in Baltimore, MD, she was Ruthie the Riveter.
Ruth worked as a head cook at Lynn Classical High School in Lynn, MA, she retired in 1983. She lived in Lynn for 32 years and retired to East Wakefield, NH in 1983, where she and her husband John had many enjoyable years on the lake.
She was a Past President of Wakefield-Brookfield Seniors, a member of the Wakefield Women's Club, East Wakefield Volunteers and a member of Wolfeboro Seniors. Ruth was a supporting and active member of the GENHAR GE retirees and a member of the Martins/Mariners Association PBM's. She was a member of Warren-Alpha-Unity Fraternal Chapter #10, Wolfeboro, NH, also a member of the Red Hat Society.
Ruth love to watch the Red Sox, after she and John retired, they traveled to many places around the country. She enjoyed going to the Casinos in Connecticut. In years past, she loved her many trips to MD to attend the big Vogler family reunions. Ruth loved and was so proud of her family. She enjoyed meeting people and made many true friends.
Ruth was the wife of the late John A. Fritz of 66 years, mother of John Barry Fritz and his wife Cookie of MA, R. Patricia Boyd and her husband Raymond Boyd of MA, grandmother (Nana) to Michael Fritz and his wife Donna Fritz, Andrew Fritz and Dana Boyd, all of MA. She was Great Grandma to Jake, Sophia and Jacquelyn Fritz, all of MA, also aunt to many nieces and nephews, sister to Margaret L. Ziemann of MD, her niece, like a sister to her Charlotte Casserly of MD and her nephew, like a brother to her William Vogler of NH.
She was predeceased by 3 sisters: Ida E. Milski, Katherine A. Dicarlo, Helen M. Mack, 5 brothers: William L. Vogler, John W. Vogler, John T. Vogler, George N. Vogler and Charles F. Vogler.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2013 at 12 Noon at Peaslee Funeral Home, 2079 Wakefield Road in Sanbornville (Wakefield) NH, the calling hour is prior to the service from 10am-12noon. Interment will follow at Lovell Lake Cemetery.
