Ruth A. Fifield, age 65, of Barnes Avenue in Alton, died November 23, 2012, at Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston, MA, after a brief illness.
Born September 18, 1947 in Wolfeboro, the daughter of Franklin A. and Iris J. (Simonds) Alden, she resided in Alton for most of her life.
Ruth was employed at Huggins Hospital for over twenty years.
She was a past member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #72 in Alton. Ruth was an active volunteer with many community services and organizations in Alton. She especially enjoyed cooking and baking.
Survived by her mother: Iris Berry and her 4 children: Melissa Herrick, Kristen Fifield, Gerald Fifield, Jr. and Jason Fifield and extended son Jason Thomas, 15 Grandchildren, a sister Priscilla Arey, 2 brothers: Franklin Alden, Jr. and Charles Alden, aunt: Irene Swett, also several other family members.
