Obituary

ALTON — Ronald T. Lariviere Sr., 76, of Coffin Brook Road in Alton, died Jan. 16, 2010, at home.

Born Aug. 1, 1933, in Manchester, son of the late Sylvio and Blanche (Golder) Lariviere, he was a graduate of Central High School, class of 1951. He resided in Alton since 1993, having previously resided in Barnstead.

Ron was a veteran of the U.S. Army and the National Guard.

Prior to retirement, he was employed with Sanders Lockheed Martin.

He was a communicant at St. Katharine Drexel Church in Alton, where he was active with the Bereavement and Breakfast Committee's and a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council 7753 and Rochester Council 2048. While in Manchester, he served as a Boy Scout master with Troop 106.

Ron enjoyed fishing, boating and swimming.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mildred E. (Dubois) Lariviere of Alton; two sons, Ronald T. Lariviere Jr. and wife, Edith, of Vinita, Okla., and Butch A. Lariviere of Arundel, Maine; three daughters, Patricia A. and husband, Douglas Hicks of Manchester, Ruth B. and husband, Alva Stewart and Debra A. Therrien of Biddeford, Maine; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three brothers, Leondre Lariviere of Manchester, Norman Lariviere of Weare and Ted Lariviere of NorthEast, Md.; also several cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a son, Vern S. Lariviere in 2001 and a sister, Theresa Quinn in 2005.

A Memorial Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Feb. 6, at 11 a.m. at St. Katherine Drexel Church, Hidden Springs Road (Route 28) in Alton, with a time of reception to follow downstairs at the church. Interment will be in the spring at New Riverside Cemetery in Alton.
