Roberta H. "Birdie" Seace, age 91, former longtime resident of Farmington, died September 12, 2011 at Riverside Rest Home in Dover.
Born November 23, 1919 in New Durham, the daughter of Colo E. and Bertha (MacCarlie) Hayes, she lived in the area most of her life, while working in local shoe factories for over 50 years, then at New England Leather in Rochester, until her retirement in 1993.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for over 22 years.
Survived by her daughter: Carol A. Soucy of Somersworth, 5 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, her brother: Colo E. Hayes of New York, 5 nieces, 3 nephews and 4 cousins. She was predeceased by 2 daughters: Paula H. Goodwin, her caregiver with whom she shared her home for 16 years; and Olive Guyer, her husband Winford Seace and 2 sisters: Mildred Edwards and Dorothy Horne.
A special thank you to the VNA staff of Rochester for their help since 2001 and more recently the wonderful support and care given to her at Riverside Rest Home, with Seacoast Hospice.
A Funeral will be held on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at Peaslee Funeral Home, 24 Central Street, Farmington, NH at 11:00 am with a calling hour prior to the service from 10-11am.
