Robert D. Willander, age 83, of Alton Bay, died April 10, 2014 at Portsmouth Regional Hospital.

Born December 1, 1930 in Boston, MA, the son of Bernard and Miriam (Dunn) Willander, he grew up in Belmont, MA and attended Belmont schools. He resided in Alton Bay, NH since 1985, having come from Framingham, MA.

He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force.

Robert retired from Parker-Danner Construction Equipment, where he was employed as a Branch Manager.

He had a lifelong passion for antique cars, boats and motorcycles.

Survived by his longtime companion: Patricia Chapman, 2 sons: Robert P. Willander and Jon B. Willander, a daughter: Anne M. Boychuck, 5 grandchildren: Ashley and Briana Willander, Barrett, Nicole and Daniel Boychuck, a brother: Richard Willander a sister: Joan Cassidy, also several nieces, nephews and his beloved German Shepherd "Rhett".

Calling hours are Saturday, April 12, 2014 from 3-5 pm at Peaslee Alton Funeral Home, 12 School Street, Alton, NH. If desired, memorial donations may be made in his memory to your local SPCA, Humane Society or German Shepherd Rescue League.
