IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert W.
Todd, Sr.
May 4, 1940 – June 18, 2023
Robert W. Todd Sr. passed Sunday, June 18th in Middleton, NH, at the home of his grandson Ryan Todd and Kadie Charron, just 83 days after the passing of Sally Ann Todd, his wife of 61 years.
Bob was born in Norfolk, VA on May 4, 1940, and was raised on his grandfather's dairy farm with his cousin Dickie Todd.
He moved to Farmington, NH with his mother Josie Scherber, when he was 10. After a brief stint in the Farmington School system, Bob joined the Navy. He spent his tour aboard the Navy destroyer USS Cunningham. He has told many stories of his time in the Navy, none of which can be told here.
After leaving the Navy he returned home to Farmington where "nothing of much importance happened" according to Sally, until May 12, 1962, when he married Sally Ann Sullivan.
After the birth of their first child, Robert W. Todd Jr., they purchased their home in Middleton, NH and settled in to raise their family. Soon after, they welcomed their second child, Thomas Todd II.
Bob found his calling in autobody. He worked at various businesses around the area before opening Todd's Collision Repair in Middleton, next to the family home. Bob worked hard while Sally created a warm, loving environment, welcoming the grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, as well as all family and friends.
Cars, Hot Rods, and "Junk"(according to Sally), were a passion of his. You never knew what he was going to bring home or how long he would have it. That never changed.
What he enjoyed most was talking. He would strike up a conversation with anyone, at any time, for hours. Anywhere he went, you would find him talking to someone, saying, "Hold on, I've got one more thing to say and then I'm done". He was never done.
He loved his family and friends which was a blurred line to him. To list them would be to exclude people that are important to him. All who love him know where we stand in his heart.
He is now with his wife and true love who has been waiting for him with her brothers. Also waiting for him is his brother, H.L. Todd.
He will be deeply missed by his sons, Robert Todd Jr. and his wife Katy, Thomas Todd II and his wife Patty, his grandchildren, Ryan Todd, Kevin Todd, Dylan Todd, Bo Todd, Derek Todd, Megan Todd and Brandon Todd, a great grandson, Arliss Todd, his cousin Dickie Todd, and many nieces and nephews.
Many thanks and appreciation to Cornerstone VNA, which provided hospice for Bob, during these last couple of months. A special thank you to his nurse Linda, as we are so grateful for the care and attention that she provided for him during a difficult time.
We will be having a memorial gathering for both Sally Ann Todd and Robert W. Todd Sr. at Middleton Gospel Chapel on Saturday, June 24th. Calling hours will be from 12:00-2:00, with a service to follow at 2:00pm.
