Robert A. Peaslee, age 75, of Willow Lane in Farmington, died Tuesday afternoon, September 13, 2011 at Watson Fields in Dover, surrounded by his loving family.
Born May 7, 1936 in Providence, Rhode Island, the son of Clarence E. and Vera C. (Anderson) Peaslee, he was raised in Union, NH and was a graduate of Spaulding High School, Class of 1955. He resided in Farmington for many years.
A United States Army Veteran, he served on active duty at the mortuary in Kaiserslauten, Germany from 1960-1962 and was honorably discharged in 1966. A graduate of New England Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences in Boston, he was a licensed funeral director and embalmer in the State of New Hampshire, having owned and operated C.E. Peaslee & Son, Inc. Funeral Homes of Farmington, Alton and Sanbornville, with the business now being operated by his family.
For the past 21 years, he and his wife enjoyed winter months at home in Bayonet Point, Florida, with visits by family and friends. Bob was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox, the Boston Bruins and the New England Patriots. He also enjoyed watching boxing, riding his lawnmower and attending his grandchildren's sports games. Also, he especially loved his late dog "Bear".
Survived by his wife of almost 50 years: Ute M. (Kolb) Peaslee and their 4 children: Vera Peaslee Haus and husband Jeffrey C. Haus of Dover, Christine E. Peaslee-Radcliffe and husband Kevin M. Radcliffe of Middleton, Robert C. Peaslee and companion Cindy of Sanbornville, Carl E. Peaslee and companion Deborah of Farmington and 9 grandchildren: Dylan C. Haus, Kevin C. Radcliffe and Kristina V. Radcliffe, Joshua R. Peaslee, Stephanie, Jaclyn and Lauren Peaslee, Brittani D. (Peaslee) Woodman and Carli E. Peaslee, also a cousin Carl and wife Jane Anderson of Florida.
Calling hours are Friday from 5-8 pm at Peaslee Funeral Home, 24 Central Street, Farmington, NH. A Funeral will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at First Congregational Church on Main Street in Farmington at 11:00 am with Rev. Debra Pratt-Peckham, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow, with military honors, at the Peaslee Family Cemetery.
