Obituary

Robert W. Page Jr.

Robert W. Page Jr., 80, of Sanbornville, New Hampshire and Las Cruces, New Mexico passed away peacefully in Las Cruces on Friday, January 13, 2017 after a battle with pneumonia. Born in Rochester, New Hampshire to Dorothy Leeman and Robert W. Page, Bob attended Nute High School in Milton, New Hampshire.

Bob spent his whole working career for General Electric Corporation. Successful in all his endeavors, Bob worked hard for the company moving up in his career to the position of Sales Engineer, calling on major customers for utilities and meters. He was considered a top salesman for the company and traveled widely during his career earning numerous sales awards. Bob was fortunate to retire early and spent many years, with his wife Judith whom he married on February 5, 1984, traveling the world and visiting places, such as Alaska, Europe, the Panama Canal and Russia.

Bob spent summers in his beloved home on Lovell Lake in Sanbornville, New Hampshire. During his extended summers, Bob played golf, visited with his large family, attended as many bean suppers as possible, and loved to "run his errands" with a coffee and his beloved dog, Riley, as his co-pilot. Bob could most likely be found tending to his large garden at "the field" in Milton Mills a special place that he spent time at with his father while growing up and with his children when they were young. Bob once remarked that when he arrived in Heaven, he wanted God to give him one job. He wanted to be in charge of watering all of the gardens.

Winters were spent in Las Cruces, New Mexico, a place that he and Judith fell in love with during their cross country trip to find their winter home. In Las Cruces, he made life long friends and enjoyed spending time golfing and in fellowship with members of the Arid Club. Bob could be found many mornings having coffee and breakfast with friends at Rosie's Cafe. He often remarked to his family from the East during phone conversations, "It's a beautiful day here, nothing but blue sky, blue sky."

Bob was known for his sense of humor and brought great joy to many people. He loved to sit and talk sharing stories from the past, he enjoyed a game of cribbage and Mexican Dominoes. His love for his family was strong, and he was a role model for his children and all who knew him on how to live life to the fullest. His greatest gift to his family was his 34 years of sobriety, something he was very proud of and open about.

He was a friend of Dr. Bob and Bill W., and had found, "a new Freedom and new Happiness" by living by the words, "they will always Materialize if we work for them." His legacy of showing many the joy that can be found in a sober life will live on by the many people he helped. He was a great man. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him and loved him.

Bob is survived by his wife, Judith, and five children, Steven Page and wife Cindy of Milton Mills, NH, Brenda Page Fredette and husband Fred of Greenville, South Carolina, Rebecca Page, Pamela Page Cote and husband Tom of Springvale, Maine and Joy Stein of Waukesha, Wisconsin, sister in law and brother in law, Darlene and Richard Hanneman, grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, and his beloved dog, Riley. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Calling hours will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at Peaslee's Funeral Home, 24 Central Street in Farmington, NH, Saturday, February 4 with a memorial service at 2:00 to celebrate Bob's life.
