Robert Norton Leighton, age 85, of Wakefield Road in Sanbornville, died November 17, 2014 at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester.
Born February 27, 1929 in Wolfeboro, the son of Charles Norton Leighton and Helen (French) Leighton, he was raised in North Conway, by his grandparents and he resided in Sanbornville since 1954.
He was a Veteran of the United States Navy, enlisting in 1945 at age 16. In 1949, he married Ann (Stevens).
Prior to retirement, he was employed with PSNH for almost 40 years.
Bob was an avid skier and golfer.
Predeceased by his wife Ann Leighton in 2004, he is survived by their 2 sons: Ronald N. Leighton and wife Marcia Taylor of E. Rochester, Richard L. and wife Heidi Leighton of No. Sutton, 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Sunday, November 23, 2014 from 2-4 pm at Peaslee Funeral Home, 2079 Wakefield Road in Sanbornville, NH. Urn interment will be private at Lovell Lake Cemetery.
