WEST NEWFIELD, Maine — Robert J. LaBrecque, Jr. "Bob", age 66, of Demeritt Road in West Newfield, Maine, died Sept. 3, 2010, at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine.

Born Oct. 29, 1943, in Dover, N.H., he was the son of Robert J. LaBrecque, Sr. and Leona (Towle) LaBrecque.

He resided the past 20 years in West Newfield, Maine, having previously resided in Sanford, Maine. Prior to retirement, he was employed as a home care provider with the State of Maine. He also worked with painting.

He served with the United States Marine Corps Reserve from 1960-1966.

Bob was best known for his compassion toward others, always offering selfless acts of kindness.

He was a "jack of all trades" and always ready to lend a hand. He is also remembered for his love of animals and being a great provider for his family.

He is survived by his loving wife Louise M. (St. Laurent) LaBrecque, a daughter Patricia L. LaBrecque and partner Wade Worster, a son Robert J. LaBrecque III and partner Lisa Stone, all of West Newfield, Maine, and a son Raymond E. LaBrecque and wife Paula of Minnesota. Also, seven grandchildren: Vanessa, Tiffany, Kyle, Craig, Shea, Alexis, and Jamie, one great grandson, Jackson, a brother Norman R. LaBrecque of Franklin, N.H., as well as aunts uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a brother, Carl LaBrecque, and a sister, Roberta Hood.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2010, at Peaslee Funeral Home, 2079 Wakefield Road in Sanbornville, N.H., at 11 a.m., with Fr. Edmund A. Babicz, pastor of St. Anthony's Church, officiating, with a calling hour prior to the service from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Interment will follow at Woodman Cemetery in East Wakefield, N.H.
