IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert "Bob"
Ew Hobbs
April 10, 1966 – January 6, 2023
Rochester, NH
Robert ("Bob") EW Hobbs, age 56, of Rochester NH, passed away suddenly on January 6, 2023 at Frisbie Memorial Hospital after a short period of failing health.
Bob was born in Rochester, NH on April 10, 1966, the son of Robert E. and Jeannine J. (Bragg) Hobbs.
He was raised and resided in Farmington for years, graduating from Farmington High School in 1984. He went on to graduate in 1986 from UNH's Thompson School of Applied Science with an Associate of Science degree. He later earned several credits and certifications in the golf industry which was his lifelong career starting at Farmington Country Club where he was Superintendent while still attending school. He later went on to become the Superintendent at Haverhill Golf and Country Club, a private club in Haverhill, MA, where he stayed for several years before successfully finding his place in golf/turf equipment sales eventually making his way to Turf Products Corporation (TPC). As a Sales Representative, he made many strong, lasting friendships which he cherished. He was known to be accompanied by his pal Sadie, a sassy goldendoodle.
He married his high school sweetheart, Kimberly Heon, on June 30, 1990. Bob and Kim built their home in Rochester, NH and raised their two daughters, Nicole and Leah there.
Bob loved being active. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting - bird, deer, and moose; fishing - fresh, salt, and ice; and golfing. He took this passion seriously and over the years he was quite successful, bagging several mountable trophies. He relished the hunting trips up north with his buddies. His annual deer hunting trips to Anticosti Island in Quebec, Canada were always a highlight.
He also enjoyed spending time with his family especially when it was sharing the outdoors with them. No fishing trip was complete without the declaration of who caught the biggest fish. Much to his chagrin, he often lost to his daughter, Leah. One of his most proud moments is when his daughter, Nicole, harvested a turkey under his tutelage. Bob fostered, supported, followed and was proud of both of his daughters' yearslong involvement in the game of volleyball, often travelling hours to see a game. He showed his passion for the game sometimes too much in trying to "help" the referees do their job - once being asked to "find somewhere else to be" by a referee.
Bob loved life and loved his family - he and his witty one-liners will be forever missed and remembered every day.
Bob is survived by his mother Jeannine, his wife Kimberly and their two daughters Nicole and Leah, his three sisters Wanda Thivierge, April and husband Bill Brackley, Roberta and husband Bradley Ham, along with several nieces, nephews and extended family. Bob is predeceased by his father Robert, sister Rebecca and brother-in-law John Thivierge.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at First Baptist Church, 10 Church Street, Farmington, NH at 1:00PM. Family and friends are welcome. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his memory to your favorite charity. Cremation care by Peaslee Funeral Home. To express condolences, please visit: www.peasleefuneralhome.com
