Obituary

Robert E. Dailey passed away on January 22, 2013 at the N. H. Veteran's Home in Tilton NH at the age of 82. Bob was a graduate (1948) of Lowell High School where he was a football captain during his senior year. He was a WWII Navy Veteran and after his discharge he studied and started his career in mechanics. He was employed at the New England Telephone Company and after many years with Ma Bell he retired and relocated to Center Barnstead NH and Boynton Beach FL. Bob and his wife Milly traveled extensively in the U.S. and Europe, from Ireland to the entire Eastern Block. Bob was an avid Patriots fan and never missed a game. In retirement he started a golf league and was presidents of the men's club in Boynton Beach, FL.
Bob got married in 1956 and was happily married for 56 years to Milly (Gawlik) Dailey. Bob is survived by his wife and three children, Kathleen Schubert and her husband Barry of Derry NH, Owen Dailey and his wife Lynda of Peterborough NH and Colleen Dailey of Plaistow NH. Also 4 grandchilden, Jennifer Mullin of San Francisco, CA, Alex Schubert of Las Vegas, NV and Robbie and Tracie Dailey of Peterborough NH, and his sister Rosemary Trainer of Chelmsford MA and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Owen Dailey (died during the Philippine Invasion) and Jack Dailey of Randolph MA and his parents Rose and John Dailey.
On Friday January 25th 2013, the family of Bob is welcome at the Alton Funeral Home on 12 School Street in Alton NH starting at 9am for a private viewing. This will be followed by a mass of Christian burial celebrated on Friday, January 25, 2013 at 10:00 am at St. Katherine Drexel Church, 40 Hidden Springs Road, Alton NH. After the mercy meal, there will be a Military Honors Service at 1:30pm at the NH State Veterans Cemetery at 110 DW Highway Rte. 3 Boscawen NH 03303.
