Robert Eugene Carswell, aka "Crash", died peacefully, February 24, 2024, after a long illness, at Portsmouth Regional Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Born Nov. 21, 1949 in Rochester, NH, a son of Fred E. Carswell & Dorothy L. (Wilder) Carswell, Bob grew up in Milton Mills, NH, a graduate of Nute High School, Milton, NH, Class of 1968. He then enlisted in the United States Marines Corps, serving in Vietnam.
After Bob's service to his beloved country, he worked at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, until his retirement.
Bob was happily married to Delia Ann (Caron) Carswell since 1982, they resided in Milton Mills, where they raised a daughter and two grandsons Ronnie & Gauge, going on many family camping trips to the White Mountains.
Bob loved to fish, hunt and enjoy the woods around him.
An avid Civil War buff, he owned and read many civil war books and memorabilia, also enjoyed a trip to: Reenactment of the Battle of Gettysburg, in 2002.
Survived by sister Betty & husband Steve Peterson, brother Brian & wife Lori Carswell, sister in law Lisa Bossie, 2 grandsons: Ronnie & Gauge, also many other nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by his wife Delia of 31 years, their daughter: Wendy, his sister Linda & brother Neil.
In his failing health, Bob was lovingly cared for by his niece Amanda Jones of Milton and dearly loved by his bonus grandchildren: Karma Jones, Jackson Fryou & Waylon Jones.
A Celebration of his Life will be held on Sunday, March 3, 2024 from 1-6pm at the Milton Moose Lodge, 288 White Mountain Highway in Milton, NH 03851.
