Rita Jappe, 83 of Wakefield, MA

Rita Constance (Leone) Jappe, 83, of Wakefield, passed peacefully from this world on March 6, at Bear Hill Rehab and Nursing Center in Stoneham, after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. The consummate caregiver and nurturer, she raised three sons and ladled her bountiful love on them, their wives, and later her seven grandchildren. She never complained and she never sought to capture attention for herself: she was always content to care for and be there for others. A dedicated wife, Rita is survived by Howard Jappe, her husband of 61 years, who is currently a resident of Bear Hill. A lifelong resident of Wakefield, Rita is also survived by her sons Eric and wife Hiromi (of Wakefield), Paul and wife Morag (of Atkinson, NH), Carl and wife Mary (of Ipswich); her grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and sisters. Services will be private.
