On Sunday September 6th, 2020, Richard Laurent Rodrigue, loving husband and father of six children passed away at the age of 84.

Born in Holyoke, Ma on September 23, 1935, he was the youngest of 13 children to Joseph and Anna (Beaupre') Rodrigue.

Richard proudly served in the US Army Signal Corps from 1955 to 1958 as a teletype operator with security clearance.  He attended Holyoke Community College, Holyoke Ma and Western New England College in Springfield Ma.  Richard worked in the traffic department as an Assistant Distribution Manager at American Bosch in Chicopee Ma, he was also an Assistant Distribution Manager at BASF Manufacturing in Bedford Ma.  He then moved to Milton Mills NH where he was employed with Sears and Roebuck Co. for 19 years.  He was also well known by his customers at Rochester Lincoln Toyota and Dodge where he retired in 2006.

Richard was an active member of his community in Milton, NH where he served as Selectman and on the school board.  He also helped organize the St. Jude Bike-A-Thon.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Elaine.  His spirit is carried on by his 6 children Elizabeth Sanborn and husband James Sanborn, Audrey Rodrigue and partner Beverly Gobbi, Maureen Chiarella and husband John Chiarella, David Rodrigue and his wife Jodie Wright, Michelle Rodrigue and Jennifer Rodrigue.  He appreciated all the laughs, card games, and joy his grandchildren brought him - James Sanborn and his wife Caitlin Sanborn, Jocelyn Smith and husband Ray Smith Meghan Zizza and husband Alex Zizza, Jake Sanborn, Sonya Kovler and husband Brandon Kovler, Faith Lopes, Joe and Giuseppe Bonanno and Alysia Dunleavey.  He felt very blessed and proud of his great grandchildren Cameron and Zach Smith, Jameson, Jacoby and Mila Sanborn. Layla and Mckenzie Zizza, Oliver Kovler, Calob and Owen Dunleavey.  His surviving sisters are Rita Desjardins of Granby, Claire Lynch of South Hadley and Doris Holve of Springfield.  He had many nieces and nephews with whom he was very close.  His quick wit and humor will be missed by all.

A graveside service will be held in the Milton Mills Cemetery, Ball Field Side, Saturday Sept. 12 at 11:00 AM.  Outside reception to follow at James and Elizabeth Sanborn's 487 Applebee Road Milton Mills.
