Obituary

Richard A. Paradis, age 57, of Covered Bridge Road in West Ossipee, died August 4, 2011, at home, after a long battle with cancer.



Born October 10, 1953 in Rochester, son of Philip and Geraldine (Vincent) Paradis, he was raised on Flagg Road in Gonic where he later founded and operated "Paradis Butcher Shop" for over 30 years with his father and brothers. Richard resided a short time in West Ossipee, having previously resided at his childhood dream the "Paradis Farm" located on Middleton Road in New Durham, formerly known as the Jennings Farm.



Richard was a lifelong farmer, a successful businessman, gifted craftsman, avid outdoorsman and naturalist with an endless passion for learning and a love for sharing his stories with family and friends. He led his own way in life and was deeply committed to pursuing his latest idea or interest of the day, while always placing his ever growing family first.



Survived by his wife of 36 years: Linda (Fecteau) Paradis and their 3 children: Adam, Stacy Chamberlin, Jennifer and husband Fred Elliott, his parents: Philip and Geraldine Paradis, 2 brothers: Raymond Paradis, Dennis and wife Sue Paradis, 3 sisters: Jeannine and husband Marc Shevenell, Theresa Moffett, Claire and husband James Moffett, Sr., 5 grandchildren: Ariana, Natasha, Kyra, Ryan and Michael, also many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.



A Service will be held on Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at 2:00 pm at Peaslee Funeral Home, 24 Central Street, Farmington, NH with Fr. Daniel J. Sinibaldi, officiating, with a calling hour prior to the service from 1-2pm. To express condolences, please visit: www.peasleefuneralhome.com
