Richard “Rit” H. Moulton, 83 of Farmington NH, passed away unexpectedly on May 2, 2026. Born on September 28, 1942 in Farmington NH, he was the son of Chester and Theresa (Carpenter) Moulton. Rit was a lifetime resident of Farmington. Rit loved playing sports and was a three season athlete while at Farmington High School and held the batting average for many years. He went on to play in men’s leagues as an adult. Rit worked in shoe shops in Rochester and Dover, then was employed by Fern’s as a fuel truck driver and technician. He owned R&R Heating for 13 years and later became an employee of the Highway Department in Farmington. Rit was a 34 year volunteer on the Farmington Fire Department and served as chief for 22 years. He was most proud of helping to build the old fire station on Main Street at minimal cost to the Town. After retirement he spent many hours volunteering on landscaping at the Parsonage and First Congregational Church of Farmington. He was a member of the D-B Car Club. He loved being involved in his community. Rit was predeceased by his parents, siblings Harry, Chester “Bud”, Doris “Dot”, Robert “Buzz”, Gloria, Shirley, Barbara, Rodney “Rod” and Harold, daughter Laurie, and wife Linda (Stebbens). He is survived by his wife Evelyn (Fowler), children Richard Hough, Tracy and husband Vinny Puglia, Ritt A. Moulton, step-children Alex and wife Holly Sinclair, John and wife Deb Sinclair and Katie and husband Jay Vitale along with several grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to two very special people who cared for “Papa”,Dr. Steven Olive and Audiologist Jason Vanier. A celebration of life will be held at the First Congregational Church, 400 Main Street, Farmington, NH on Saturday, May 9, 2026 with a calling hour at 10AM and service at 11AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Congregational Church of Farmington, 400 Main Street or Seacoast Habitat for Humanity , 1 Middle Street, Suite 200, Portsmouth, NH 03801
