Obituary

Farmington, NH
Richard "Rick" Larson, age 70, of Farmington, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, on March 2, 2022, at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital, after a heroic battle with cancer.
Born January 6, 1952, he was the son of Richard W. and Sarah (May) Larson. Rick graduated from Lynn English High School, Class of 1969. He was an All-Star Athlete, excelling in hockey, football and baseball. Later in life, he became an avid golfer. If the weather was right, Rick was on the golf course with his many friends. (Ron, Bill, and Jimmy)
For many years, Rick resided in Marco Island, Florida, Wolfeboro, NH, and Farmington, NH.
As a Master Plumber, Rick worked with the family business of Larson Plumbing & Heating, which was started by his grandfather Henry Larson. He also enjoyed working as a greens-keeper at Vineyards Country Club in Naples, Florida. Rick came to love working outside, with his son, Jeff, on his own property. His lawns, gardens and stone work, were admired by many.
As an avid New England sports fan, Rick enjoyed time with his sons, Robert and Timothy, cheering on the Patriots or Red Sox. They could be heard throughout the neighborhood!
Rick married his high school sweetheart, Mary (Maher) Larson and was devoted to their three sons: Robert, Jeffrey, Timothy Larson and his wife Laura Sweeney. He was adored by his two grandchildren, Evan & Elle Larson. Rick also leaves behind his mother Sarah; his sister Nancy & Mark McManus; a brother David & Ruth Burton; several cousins; his father-in-law Robert Maher, and the Maher family. He was predeceased by his father Richard W. Larson, grandparents Mildred and Henry Larson, and mother-in-law Anna Maher.
The Larson family extends a special thanks to the Oncology Department at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital where Richard was an inspiration to many.
A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, March 7th, at 11:30, in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn, MA.
