Richard "Rich" Lamontagne, age 62, of Waldron Road in Farmington, passed away peacefully at Portsmouth Regional Hospital on September 9, 2021, with his loving family by his side.

Born February 20, 1959 and raised in Rochester, son of Lucien "Babe" Lamontagne & Norma (Vachon) Lamontagne, he was a graduate of Spaulding High School.  He resided in Farmington, NH since 1993.

He worked most his life for Brock's Plywood Sales in Rochester and retired while working Facilities at UNH.  He also spent a number of years on the Call Force with Rochester Fire Department.

An avid outdoorsman he enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating – coining the nickname "Captain Dick" while commanding his boat the Missy Sue – and spending time at Camp up North.  His hobbies included woodworking, drawing and gardening.  He was a skilled hockey player and a devout Bruins fan.  He had a natural affinity with animals often making friends with and naming the woodland creatures around his property.  He carried a special affection for his dogs and will be missed dearly by his dog "Peanut."

Survived by his wife Cindy (MacDonald) Lamontagne, daughter Melissa S. Lamontagne, step-son David Sowards, granddaughter Makenna Sowards, sisters Connie Lefebvre and Nancy Lachance, and several Cousins, Nieces and Nephews.

His family extends a special thanks to the Staff at Portsmouth Regional Hospital.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Thursday, September 16, 2021 from 6-8pm at Peaslee Funeral Home, 24 Central Street, Farmington, NH.  A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 10am at Pine Grove Cemetery in Farmington.  To express condolences, please visit: www.peasleefuneralhome.com
