Raymond M. Rowan of Wakefield, NH, formerly of Freeport, NY, died peacefully at home on February 13, 2015.
Devoted husband of Edith Rowan. Loving father of Donald and his wife Deborah of Wakefield, NH (formerly of Freeport), Raymond and his wife Eva of Freeport, NY, Lynne and her husband Bruce Clement (formerly of Freeport). Beloved grandfather of Cassandra, Donald and Elizabeth Rowan; Steven and Scott Rowan; Katherine, Brian and Matthew Clement.
A proud veteran of World War II, he served with the United States Marine Corps in the 5th Marine Division and was a survivor of Iwo Jima. He was a life member of the Marine Corps League.
Retired from Pan American World Airways where he was a manager of properties and facilities.
A Boy Scout Master for 52 years, he was the recipient of the Silver Beaver and Lamb Awards.
Calling hours are on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Peaslee Funeral Home, 2079 Wakefield Road in Sanbornville (Wakefield), NH. Interment will be in the Spring at Stonehenge Cemetery in Wakefield, NH. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his memory to: Wounded Warrior Project, or the Marine Corps League.
