Ralph Philip Leighton – died January 18, 2018, age 62.
He passed away peacefully in his home on January 18th after a lengthy illness.
Philip was born April 21, 1955 in Wolfeboro, and was raised in Alton where he lived his entire life. He worked for the NH Department of Transportation in Alton for 35 years. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, and was a regular patron of the Alton Dunkin' Donuts and a promoter of home tractors for his friends. Philip loved Alton and his home and small town life. He will be missed greatly by his many friends and coworkers. He was a kind and generous man, always willing to help out a friend or neighbor.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph H. Leighton, and mother, Virginia M. Hopkinson Leighton, and his grandfather, Walter Leighton. Philip loved his grandfather Walter and had many fond memories of him.
He is survived by his loving wife of twenty-six years, Adele Lougee Leighton; a sister, Barbara King, a brother John Leighton, brother-in-law, Preston King, and sister-in-law, Courtney S. Fiedler of Cornish, New Hampshire.
Family and friends are welcome to a Funeral Service on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at 3:00pm at Peaslee Alton Funeral Home, 12 School Street, Alton, NH with Pastor Sam Hollo, officiating. Interment will be in the spring at New Riverside Cemetery in Alton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society.
