Phyllis June Crowley Lewis
Phyllis passed away at the age of 88, following a period of declining health, on August 28, 2024 in Sarasota FL.
A native of Belmont, MA, she lived in Winchester MA, Chelmsford MA, Ellington CT, Holbrook MA, and Hingham MA before retiring to Sanbornville NH and Longboat Key FL.
Phyllis was an avid reader and travelled to many European and Caribbean countries. She loved gardening, water aerobics, the beach, everything chocolate, and enjoyed a very active social life wherever she lived. A respected educator, she helped thousands of students overcome reading challenges. She was the most cherished Mom, Nana, Auntie, and friend to many!
Phyllis was predeceased by her parents, Edward and Vivian Crowley and siblings, Barbara Long and Ted Crowley. Her beloved husband, Bob, passed in 1994. She is survived by her children Carol Wise (Gary) of Sarasota FL, Bob Lewis (Marianne) of Somersworth NH, and Mike Lewis (Siobhan Gilmartin and Hailey) of Hull MA and her grandchildren Evan Wise (Taylor Hill) of Weymouth MA, Logan Wise of Naval Air Station Point Mugu CA, Hannah Lewis of Somersworth NH and Molly Lewis of Falmouth ME. Phyllis also leaves several nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grandnephews.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Peaslee Funeral Home in Sanbornville NH on Saturday September 28th, at 11:00 am. Please come casually dressed, and we invite you to share your memories of Phyllis. Interment will be at Lovell Lake Cemetery, followed by a lunch reception at the home of Joyce and John O'Day, 82 Arbutus Ave, Sanbornville NH
