PETER J.F. SCHLENKER

Sanbornville, NH - Loved family, furry children, home, music, arts, reading, the ocean, traveling, outings, crossword puzzles, sitting on the porch watching the birds and wildlife in the field, Peter passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at home with family after prolonged medical problems.

Peter was born August 22, 1941 in Munchen, Germany at the height of World War II, son of Barbara E. Schundelmaier who worked as interpreter in Germany for several years.

Relocating to the U.S. he attended elementary school in Columbus and Canton, OH and then the family moved to Highland Park, IL where he graduated from Highland Park High School in 1959. Attended The Citadel, Charleston, SC and Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI prior to enlisting in US Navy in 1962 training at USNTC San Diego, CA and assigned to USS Ranger PacFlt, Treasure Island, San Francisco, CA. Career included work in industrial equipment sales, engineering, supervisory capacity, consulting, construction in CA, NJ, NM, NH.

Beloved husband, father and grandfather, he will be greatly missed and cherished.

Peter is survived by his wife Cheryl L. (Crawford) Schlenker, son Peter G. Schlenker, grandchildren Kelli A. Schlenker and Michael W. Schlenker and relatives and extended family on both the East and West Coast. Predeceased by parents Barbara E. and Paul D Schlenker, brother Paul D. Schlenker and Aunt Johanna "Hasi" Alban.

Peter's favorite passage in The Books of the New Testaments is I Corinthians Chapter 13 starting with "Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal"…………then ends with Verse 13 "And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity." Take time to read the entire Chapter.
