Pauline Elizabeth Phelps Scruton, age 91, of Meaderboro Road in Farmington, died April 28, 2015. Born March 25, 1924 in Concord, NH, she was the daughter of William E. Phelps and Catherine (Mock) Phelps.

With her beloved husband, Frank Scruton, Pauline helped develop Scruton's Dairy as a successful farming operation including receiving the "Progressive Breeder" award during the years 1977 to 1984. She instilled in her family the love of agriculture. She was a member of many Holstein Friesian and other agricultural associations, a member of the NH Farm Bureau for over 75 years, a 4-H leader 27 years and an avid quilter. She attended the True Memorial Baptist Church and the Meaderboro Community Church. In 1981 Pauline was the NH Mother of the Year.

Pauline will be missed by her large family to whom she was very devoted. She is survived by her 4 children: John and wife Sandy Scruton of Farmington, Ruth Scruton of Farmington, Daniel and wife Judy Scruton of Montpelier, Vermont, Barbara and husband Matthew Patch of Lebanon, NH: a daughter-in-law, Cathleen Bailey Scruton: 18 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, 4 sisters, a brother and many other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband of 67 years Frank Scruton and their children Ann Scruton Morrill and Arthur W Scruton, Arthur's first wife Sherrilyn Hutchinson Scruton and Pauline's sister Patricia Inman.

Calling hours are Sunday May 3 from 2-5 pm at Peaslee Funeral Home, 24 Central Street, Farmington, NH. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, May 9 at 1:00pm at the Meaderboro Community Church, 151 Meaderboro Road, Rochester, NH with Rev. John F. Scruton, officiating. Interment will follow at Kimball Cemetery.
