Pauline A. Hill, age 86, of Sanbornville, NH, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Friday, December 16, 2011.
Born October 20, 1925, Pauline was a very dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, who loved her husband Wallace Hill (married 66 years) with all of her heart! Her children were also her life, not only her own children, but her children that she taught. You see, Pauline was instrumental in starting the Hazel McBrien Nursery School. She played the piano so the children could have music, helped in the classroom, kitchen and with fundraisers in order to buy the things the children needed. She has always been involved with doing for the children. Pauline not only transported her own children, but many others to sports practices and games.
Pauline was a teacher until she was 74 years old and really did not stop, even then. She was active with music, special ed, chaperoned many school trips and being wherever she was needed. Pauline actively lobbied for the Paul School gym and cafeteria, for years, until it was built. She was always being stopped by former students and got big hugs, as they would always thank her for being there for them, even though, at the time, some did not appreciate her ways!
As an active member of the community, Pauline also found time to help people who were sick, she visited them, cooked for them or just held their hand and listened to them.
Pauline loved spending time with her family at their Great East Lake cottage and we all had many laughs with wonderful friends.
