Pauline L. "Polly" Whalen Gardner, age 103, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on April 2, 2025.

Born December 28, 1921 in East Rochester, NH, a daughter of Lewis "Pete" Hartford & Ruby (Labbe) Hartford Hughes, she was raised there. Polly lived in New Durham, the past five years, having resided for most of her life in Farmington, NH.

A loving homemaker and mother, she was formerly a member of First Baptist Church in Farmington, where, for over fifty years, she sang in the choir and taught Sunday School.  Most recently she was a member of First Baptist Church of New Durham.  Polly was a devoted servant of the Lord, always placing Him first in her life.  Her greatest desire was for her entire family to come to know Jesus as their Savior.  She was a source of inspiration to her family, church family, and friends, living out her faith with unwavering devotion.

Polly was the widow of Newell Whalen, married for fifty years, and parents of five children, she was also the widow of Rev. Uel Gardner.

Survived by her daughter Sharon "Sherry" Cardosi, 12 Grandchildren, 28 Great Grandchildren, 23 Great Great Grandchildren, 1 Great Great Great grandchild, many Nieces and Nephews, also John Cardinal & Sheila Whalen Cardinal, whom she considered her children.  Predeceased by her 4 children: Barry Whalen, Sandra Cardinal, Candace Whalen and Jean Newton, 2 grandsons: Scott Newton and Rocky Newton, also predeceased by 21 siblings.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday April 12, 2025 at First Baptist Church, Depot Road in New Durham, NH at 11am, with a time of visitation prior from 10-11am.

Urn interment will be at a later date at Pine Grove Cemetery in Farmington.
