Paul Jefferson Twombley, age 79 of Old Stage Road in Sanbornville, NH, passed away with his family beside him on Friday November 28, 2014 at the Rochester Manor after a lengthy illness with Parkinson's disease.
Born September 13, 1935 in Rochester, NH the son of the late William and Frances (Derby) Twombley. Paul was raised in Sanbornville, he graduated from Spaulding High School Class of 1953 and from UNH with a Bachelor Science in Earth Sciences Geology, in 1960. Paul and his wife Janet resided on Briggs Street in Melrose MA for 42 years. After retirement they returned to the family farm in Sanbornville.
Paul retired from Analog Devices of Wilmington, MA, after a career as an Electronics Engineer; he had also worked previously for Transitron Electronic Corporation in Wakefield, MA and Raytheon Company of Andover, MA.
Paul served as a Captain in the United States Air Force Reserves.
Hobbies included: amateur rock hounding, sharing his knowledge of geology with others, and gardening; boy scouts with his son, jogging, fishing and especially spending time with family.
A devoted husband and father, he is survived by his wife of 54 years Janet Marie (Waite) Twombley, their son Paul and his wife Juliana all of Sanbornville, NH, and grandson, Curtis Twombley of Peabody, MA; his two brothers: Phillip and his wife Connie, Lawrence and his wife Joanne all of Sanbornville, and one sister-in-law Christine Twombley of Nashua, NH, many cousins, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his older brother Robert Twombley.
A member of the Wakefield Congregational Church, a memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 24th at 11:00 am with Rev. Mary James officiating. Urn interment will be at the Lovell Lake Cemetery in the spring. Cremation service entrusted to Peaslee Funeral Home 2079 Wakefield Road (Sanbornville) Wakefield, NH. In lieu of flowers donations are requested in his memory to the National Parkinson Foundation.
