Union, NH

Patricia M. (Blanchard) Nichols of Wakefield Rd, Union NH passed peacefully at her home, with her family by her side at the age of 79. She had resided there for nearly 52 years.
Born in Stamford, CT she was the daughter of Mayo H. Blanchard and Lucienne P (Goyette) Blanchard.
For nearly 30 years she worked in the electronics field, and the shoe making industry. In her 40's, she went back to school to become a licensed nursing assistant. She worked at The Rochester Manor, and Huggins Hospital before retiring.
She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and caring for others. She and her husband Butch enjoyed many trips to Scotland, Hawaii, and California through his job at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. Family had always been her focus, caring not only for her husband and children, but many of her extended family and friends as well. She is remembered for her incredible strength and giving heart.
She was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Everett "Butch" G. Nichols; two brothers Phillip H. Blanchard of Thomaston, CT; and Alfred W. Blanchard of Stamford, CT and Union, NH; and her parents.
She is survived by her children Donald Nichols and wife Cherie of Rochester NH, Stephanie Bateman of Effingham NH, and Leigh Nichols of Union NH. Her sister Lucienne A. Bonina and husband Edward of Pompano Beach FL. Her grandchildren Matthew Nichols, Sarah Crowley, Samantha Bateman, Joseph Bateman (wife Kaitlynn), Thomas Bateman, Tyler Nichols (wife Ashley), and Jessica LeHoux (husband Chris); several great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held in May at her home in Union NH. Donations in her memory may be made to Cornerstone VNA of Rochester.
