Norma R. (Cutter) Smith Wheeler, age 74, formerly of Old Bay Road in New Durham, most recently of Pine Knoll Drive in Farmington, died at her daughter's home, surrounded by her family April 29, 2011, after a lengthy illness.

Born December 30, 1936 in Winchester, NH, daughter of Frank M. Cutter Sr. and Marion R. (Nelson), raised in Orange, MA she moved to Farmington, NH, at the age of 16. She had resided in New Durham, NH for over 50 years.

Norma had worked as Assistant Store Manager at Dunkin Donuts on Milton Road in Rochester. She had also worked as a waitress at the former Edgewood Restaurant in Alton and the former New Durham Station. She also worked at many area shoe shops and General Electric of Somersworth.

She enjoyed Bingo, hunting, fishing , camping, cooking, gardening, poker nights, being with her family and having family gatherings.

Widow of Alfred W. Smith and Clair G. Wheeler, she is survived by her son Alfred J. "Boo" Smith and wife Rhonda of New Durham and her daughter: Tammy J. and husband Judson Chick of Farmington, a sister Elaine M. and husband Dave Laney of Farmington, 3 brothers: Arthur E. Cutter and his wife Pat of Georgia, Frank M. Cutter, Jr. and wife Jean of Farmington and Merle Cutter of Laconia, 10 Grandchildren: Jamie, Jessie, Kayla, BJ, Marky, Haley, Hannah, James, Jason and Jared, many aunts uncles, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 2 children: James R. Smith and Crystal M. Smith, 2 brothers: Richard W. Cutter and Carroll E. Cutter and a nephew Matthew G. Laney.

There are no calling hours. A Private Graveside Service will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery in Farmington. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to: Matthew Laney Memorial Scholarship Fund, Profile Bank, 45 Wakefield Street, Rochester, NH 03867.
