Noel "Babe" E. Leveille, age 82, of Alton, died February 7, 2014 at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester.
Born December 23, 1931 in Montague City, Massachusetts, son of Noel H. and Rose T. (Sazama) Leveille, he resided in Alton, NH the past 12 years, having previously resided in Winchester, NH and in Gill, Mass.
A Veteran of the United States Army, he served during the Korean War. He was a member of the National Guard.
Noel retired from the Engineering Department of the Boston and Maine Railroad.
A member of the American Legion Post #72 in Alton, a life member of the V.F.W. in Athol, MA and a member of Loyal Order of Moose in Greenfield, MA.
He enjoyed woodworking, carpentry and model railroads. He also enjoyed playing baseball for the Montague City Blues.
Survived by his wife Elizabeth "Betty" M. (Stithen) Leveille, a daughter: Val Goodemote, 5 sons: Scott Leveille, Neil Leveille, Noel "Bud" Leveille, John Peabody and Ed Libby, 10 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, a brother: Roland "Rollie" Leveille, also many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 4 brothers: Harold, Robert, Jerry and Raymond Leveille.
Calling hours are Wednesday, February 12, 2014 from 5-8 pm at Peaslee Alton Funeral Home, 12 School Street, Alton, NH. A graveside service will be held in the spring at New Riverside Cemetery in Alton, with military honors.
