Obituary

Dover, New Hampshire

Nicholas Luongo, 93, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully, on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at Watson Fields Assisted Living Facility, in Dover, New Hampshire. Nick was born on August 2, 1929, to Giuseppe and Angelina Luongo in Calore, Italy. He came to the United States in 1956 at the invitation of his Uncle John Long, of Everett, Massachusetts, eventually settling in Middleton, New Hampshire, where he met Mary Evelyn DiPrizio, whom he married on February 9, 1957. Nick and Evelyn were married for 60 years until her passing in December of 2017.

Nick was employed at Charles DiPrizio Lumber Company as a manager of the finishing mill until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, and looked forward to annual fishing trips to Prince Edward Island, Canada, with Evelyn and family friends. Nick took pride in vegetable and flower gardens at his home and at the family camp on Lake Ossipee, NH. He and Evelyn were happiest when hosting dinner parties and entertaining family and friends. He traveled to Toronto, Canada, with his brother Vincent and his wife Rita, for annual visits to his sisters, Rosina and Immacolata and their families there. Nick and Evelyn also traveled extensively, enjoying trips back to his homeland of Italy and taking many memorable cruises. Nick was a proud member of the Order of Sons of Italy Association.

Both Nick and Evelyn spent their final years at Watson Fields in Dover, NH, where they received loving care from their extended family there. We send heartfelt thanks to Dr. John and his entire staff.

Nicholas is survived by his brother-in-law Charles DiPrizio, Jr. and his wife Sandra, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, his seven siblings and many brothers and sisters-in-law.
