Mrs. Nancy Ruth (Chase) Boyd died on July 24th at the Hospice Hyder House in Dover, NH. Mrs. Boyd was born on August 30, 1939 in Milton, Massachusetts, the daughter of Harry L. and Ruth C. Chase. She graduated from Norwell (Massachusetts) High School and Boston University, College of Liberal Arts. After teaching in the Washington, DC FLES Program (Foreign Languages in Elementary Schools), she joined the US Peace Corps stationed in Nigeria.
She owned and operated Drakes Hill Antiques in Northwood, NH for 25 years and was a member of the NH Antique Dealers Association. She served as Museum Properties Committee of the Moffatt-Ladd House Museum in Portsmouth, NH and was a past proprietor of the Portsmouth Athenæum.
With her late husband, Lt. Col. James A. Boyd , Jr., she traveled extensively in England and Scotland. As members of the Richard III Society, they enjoyed touring medieval, historic sites.
She is survived by her two children, Jamie M. Boyd of Burlington, MA and Claire Grossin of Paris, France. There will be a graveside service at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Northwood, NH on Thursday, July 28th at 10:00 am. Memorial donations may be made to the Moffatt-Ladd House Museum in Portsmouth, NH; or to the Trinity Anglican Church of Rochester, NH.
