Obituary

Michael Patrick Seward, age 53 of Alton, NH, passed away unexpectedly at home on November 9, 2025. He was born on February 29, 1972, in Danvers, MA, to Thomas and Carole (Witten) Seward.  Michael grew up in Lynn, MA, and graduated from Lynn Vocational and Technical Institute.  He went on to attend classes at North Shore Community College and Salem State College. He spent his career working in grocery stores and in beverage sales. He was proud to have become one of the youngest managers in the entire Star Market chain at age 23.  He earned the Circle of Excellence award from the Pepsi Bottling Group for exceeding sale expectations five years in a row.  Eighteen years ago, he started working for New Hampshire Distributors. Michael took great pride in his work and advanced to the position of Sales Manager covering the territory from Seabrook to North Conway. Locally he became known as "The Bud Guy."

Michael was a doting son, husband, father and grandfather. He had a knack for anticipating the needs of others and fulfilling those needs without hesitation. He proudly honored his father's military service by maintaining a membership with the Sons of the American Legion. He enjoyed the outdoors, boating, snowmobiling, the Red Sox, and Patriots. He found peace using his zero-turn and brush hog while caring for the household grounds. An American muscle car enthusiast, he dreamed of owning a 1970 Chevelle SS. A great friend to many, he was thoughtful and generous with his time. His quick wit made trading barbs with friends effortless. He wove lines from his favorite movies, especially The Departed, into his daily conversations.

He is survived by his mother, Carole Seward, of Alton, brothers Brian Seward (wife Sherry), of Lynn, MA, and Tommy Seward, of Alton. Michael is also survived by his wife of 17 years Stacey Seward, his children, Nicholas Sackos (wife Tabitha), of Wolfeboro, Joseph Lundy (wife Karen) of Alton, and Stephanie Lundy (fiancé Evan Lagrant) of Alton.  Michael was the adoring grandfather, affectionately known as "Pa," to Landon and Maxwell Sackos, Sadie Lagrant, Jack Lundy, and was looking forward to the arrival of another sweet granddaughter in early December. Michael was known in the family to be somewhat of a "dog whisperer" and over his lifetime enjoyed companionship of his dogs, Blackie, Cody and Rosco. He always had treats and pup cups ready to go for his grand-dogs, Caesar, Nova, and Goose.

Michael is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.  He was especially close to his cousin Timothy Witten (more like a brother), cousin Lori Dawidowicz (more like a sister), and cousin Jillian Witten (more like a daughter).

In 2024, as a leap-year baby, Michael and his grandson, Landon, jointly celebrated their 13th birthdays.  Michael will be remembered by all as a wonderful man whose first priority was his family. He will be watching as his beautiful family continues to grow.
