Maurice Gerard Huppe, 91, lovingly called Pépère or Pep, passed away on March 1, 2025 at Wentworth Douglass Hospital in Dover, NH.
He was born April 21, 1933, in Somersworth, NH to Alcide W. Huppe and Blanche F. Goulet. Maurice graduated from St. Leo's School in Gonic.
On June 18, 1955, he married his sweetheart, Geraldine I. Foley. They had three children: Richard M. (Linda), Kathy A. Alden (Charles), and Timothy A. (Wendy). In 1959, he and Gerie purchased a farm on Meaderboro Road, where they raised their family. BerryBrook Farm was the family hub for four generations of Huppe's. Happiness for Pep was a seat next to the woodstove, surrounded by his family.
Maurice started his logging career as a young man. In the early 1950's he managed a crew of six men who helped clear the land that was to become Pease Air Force Base. Maurice went on to work in precision fabrication at Great Falls Products Company in Rochester. He retired from quality control at Salmon Falls Precision Fabricators in Rochester.
Maurice was a member of the Meaderboro Community Church for many years.
Maurice was predeceased by his parents and five sisters: Cecile Gagnon, Noella Huppe, Rachel Dubreuil, Irene Young and Bernadette Duchesneau.
He is survived by his sister, Maryann Parker of Farmington, NH, his brother, Joseph Huppe of Gonic, NH, his wife, Gerie, his children and their spouses, nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and a great-great grandchild.
His family would like to thank the staff at Wentworth Douglass Hospital for the superb care given him.
A Memorial Service will be held at Meaderboro Community Church, 151 Meaderboro Road in Rochester, NH 03867 on Saturday May 17, 2025 at 11am with Rev. John Scruton, pastor, officiating, with a calling hour prior to the service at church from 10-11am. A celebration of his life will follow in the church reception hall.
