Maureen R. Hunter, age 77, a longtime resident of Middleton, passed away peacefully at Riverside Rest Home in Dover on December 18, 2016.
Born June 27, 1939 in Rochester, a daughter of William Thomas Leighton and Leona Matilda (Grace) Hunter, she resided in Middleton for most of her life and resided the past 14 years at Riverside Rest Home.
Maureen enjoyed embroidery, quilting and cross word puzzles.
Survived by her husband: James B. Hunter and their 6 children: Frank and wife Nell Hunter, Rocky and wife Darlene Hunter, Rose Hunter, Phillip and wife Kimberly Hunter, Margaret and husband Shaun Sargent, Bruce and wife Rachel Hunter, 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, her brother: Rodney W. Leighton and her sister: Mabel Stanley, also several cousins, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a sister: Beulah Smith.
Calling hours are Thursday from 5-7 pm at Peaslee Funeral Home, 24 Central Street, Farmington, NH, family and friends are welcome, followed by a gathering at Margaret Sargent's home in Middleton.
